The e-governance programme has been introduced to this ULB under the aegis of Change Management Unit and Deptt. of Municiapl affairs, Govt. of West Bengal.

The ultimate goal of the E-Governence is to be able to offer an increased portfolio of public services to citizens in an efficient and cost effective manner. E-government allows for ULB transparency. ULB transparency is important because it allows the public to be informed about what the ULB is working on as well as the policies they are trying to implement. Simple tasks may be easier to perform through electronic government access.

The process of adoption of the said technology is in its full swing. A post of I.T Coordinator has been created to look after the entire system.
